My Philosophy

Information on nutrition and lifestyle can often be confusing and overwhelming, making knowing where to start difficult.

The foods we eat, how well we digest and our lifestyles have a profound effect on our health, mood and energy levels.

I’m passionate about helping people to find a sustainable way of eating, that works for their unique needs and goals. I show my clients how to make small changes appropriate for them, that drive lasting results.

My Background

After years of exploring a personal interest in nutrition and its impact upon health, I deepened and formalised my knowledge through studying with the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) and achieving a diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I am currently furthering my knowledge through studying for the Master Practitioner Programme, Eating Disorders and Obesity with the National Centre For Eating Disorders (NCFED).

I support final year Nutrition students at CNM in clinic as an Assistant Supervisor and I’m registered with BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council).

Most recently I have become a certified DNA Life practitioner with Nordic Laboratories. The impact of diet, lifestyle, exercise and environment on an individual’s genetic makeup should not be underestimated, knowledge of how genes are influenced by external factors enables the development of truly personalised nutritional protocols for my clients.

I am based in Bristol, but have an online set up to provide support throughout the UK using Zoom.

About the Consultation

Testimonial

“My sleep and gut issues were not improving with over the counter medication and exercise, and medical investigations had been unable to determine a cause for my symptoms. Feeling bloated and tired all of the time was really getting me down, so I was interested to see what Nutritional Therapy could offer.

I was feeling nervous about what to expect, but upon arrival Joanna immediately made me feel at ease. She talked through the consultation process which really helped me relax and feel comfortable. Discussing my symptoms, which I felt a little embarrassed about, was much less daunting than I had expected. Joanna reassured me that there was nothing to feel embarrassed about and that there was a lot which could be done to improve them.

Following the consultation, the nutritional protocol was clearly explained. Joanna made sure that I understood why each change was being recommended, and the reason for the supplement plan. Together we agreed a clear action plan for how I would incorporate the changes into my daily routine.

Within a week of starting my nutritional protocol, my bloating had reduced dramatically which felt so good as it’s something I’ve suffered with for years! As I progressed through the recommendations my sleep quality also improved and I started waking feeling much more refreshed.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Joanna for her knowledge, professionalism, engaging and friendly personality.”
